Safe-T-Opolis is a FREE interactive program presented virtually to students in our service territory. This program teaches them how to be safe around electricity and how to avoid hazardous situations. During the presentation, we cover how to remain safe when encountering potential electrical dangers, like what to do if a power line fell on your vehicle or bus, or if you saw a damaged underground transformer. We also introduce and play our video game, Power Play, which reinforces electrical safety lessons. The game can also be played by students and teachers at home or school.
Safe-T-Opolis programs last 45 minutes and can be presented at any date and time convenient for the teacher. We can present using a variety of platforms, including Google Meet, Zoom, Webex, and Microsoft Teams. The program meets educational standards for fourth graders in Alabama and is endorsed by the state Department of Education.
