At Alabama Power, we know that choosing clean sources of energy is important. But we also know that powering your home or business with clean energy isn’t always easy. That’s why we made accessing clean energy simple with Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from Clean Energy Select. With RECs, you can certify that the energy powering your home or business is sourced from renewables. It’s clean. It’s simple. It’s Clean Energy Select.
Power your home with more clean energy.
Power your business with more clean energy.
Power your home or business with 100% renewable energy from existing wind and solar sources.
Using clean energy isn’t a movement. It’s the future. Support clean by choosing to use our planet’s renewable resources.
Whatever your needs are, selecting clean energy is now accessible, starting at as little as $5 per month.
We’ve made it simple to use clean energy. So simple that you can do it without adding any equipment to your home. When you sign up for Clean Energy Select, you get RECs that cover your electric usage with renewable energy. Take a look behind the scenes of Clean Energy Select to understand what RECs are and how they work.
With RECs, you can choose which energy sources power your home.
Each REC covers 1,000 kWh of your electrical usage with renewable energy.
When you buy a REC, you get to proudly declare that your energy is from clean energy resources.
When you make the choice to use more clean energy, you are contributing to a better tomorrow and a cleaner future.
RECs allow you to easily and affordably cover your home’s electric usage with clean energy. When you buy RECs, you are certifying that your power is coming from 100% renewable resources. Each REC represents 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy produced by our renewable solar and wind farms. With RECs, you can proudly declare that your home is powered by renewables.
The energy source depends on the type of RECs purchased. The energy that accompanies our solar RECs come from Alabama solar farms, including Fort Rucker and Anniston Army Depot. Wind RECs come from our Buffalo Dunes wind facility in Kansas and Chisholm View wind farm in Oklahoma.
